With all of the so-called NFL experts hanging their hats on the claim that they know what this year’s draft will bring, our own Tom, Rhys, and Evan decided to collaborate on the inaugural RPB 1st Round Mock Draft.

Bold Predictions?
In addition to the picks above (if the order were to remain static for the draft, we’ve come up with a few ‘hot takes’, perhaps some bold predictions about this year’s 1st round proceedings.
Evan says…
I don’t see the top of the draft board staying the way that it is. I think we see Detroit trade out of their 3rd selection overall, moving down for a QB-needy team to move up (like Los Angeles). I think they still get Jeff Okudah at the 6th pick, and will potentially pick up another pick or two for the move (perhaps even a 1st round pick next year).

When I first ran my mock draft, I got so fixated on Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa that I completely forgot about the existence of Justin Herbert and ended up mocking him to the Patriots. You may laugh, but the more I look at where I have the chips falling, it seems more and more plausible. Oh shut up, there’s a reason they call it a mock draft!

There’s going to be at least 6 major trades in this year’s draft, maybe some big names dropped down the list and definitely surprises. I can definitely see Detroit dropping down and still getting their man, I can see the Patriots trading out of their first round and getting a couple of 2nd rounder. Miami, who has the most picks, could try to trade up and give up 2 or more of their three-1st rounder. All in all, this is going to be extremely exciting to see what comes from the best group of talent since 2014.
